Hello Kitty was one of my favorite things when I was young and I was very eager to buy from Colourpop for months, so when I finally knew how to safely buy from them (from Europe), I really didn't think it much before adding Surprise to the cart.

Hello Kitty era una de mis cosas favoritas cuando era pequeña, y estaba dispuestas a comprar a Colourpop desde hace meses, así que cuando supe finalmente cómo comprar sin problemas (desde Europa), la verdad que no me lo pensé mucho antes de añadir Surprise a la cesta de la compra.

Surprise is a metallic finish. I wasn't really keen into these finishes and I already have a lot of red and pink lipsticks, but I though it look really pretty online, really festive. However, I had my doubts in how it would look on the lips.

Colourpop Cosmetics sacó el pasado noviembre la colección limitada de Hello Kitty. Como se puede ver, tanto la caja como el tubo es muy mono, con los lacitos de Hello Kitty dibujados.
Surprise es un acabado metálico. La verdad que no me gustaba demasiado éste acabado en otros colores que había visto, pero me encantó lo "festivo" que parecía en las fotos que tenía la compañía en la web. Aunque tampoco estaba muy segura de cómo quedaría en los labios.

Colourpop Surprise is a gorgeous red with sparkling red particles that catch light in a lot of different way, making it a stunning 3 dimensional color. It's so hard to properly capture the depth and shine of this lipstick, I don't even know how many photos I took so I could somehow show it to you.

Colourpop Surprise es un rojo suuuper bonito con partículas brillantes también rojas, que reflejan la luz de formas diferentes, haciendo que éste labial sea de un color rojo tridimensional precioso. Es dificilísimo capturarlo en cámara, ni sé cuántas fotos saqué intentando enseñároslo bien.

Surprise is very smooth and has a very homogeneous application. It is the typical liquid lipstick: liquid but not too liquid, not thick or mousse-like (as it happens with NYX's Embellishment, click here). The amount I get out on the applicator, without rubbing it in the neck of the tube, is enough to define the lips and apply one coat, but I always apply a second coat to make it look prettier.

As it dries, the lipstick is really noticeable on the lips, and since this is a metallic finish it doesn't completely dry. Also, when rubbing the lips together they kind of get sticky, although not in an unpleasant "I have glue on my lips" way, and it doesn't alter the lipstick (meaning it doesn't chap it or separate it from the lips). However, about half and hour after applying it I stop noticing it. The first time I was actually surprised and I didn't realize the I wasn't feeling the lipstick anymore.

Surprise es muy suave y tiene una aplicación homogénea. Es el típico labial líquido: líquido sin serlo demasiado y no es espeso o como una mousse (como el Embellishment de NYX, click aquí). La cantidad que se queda en el aplicador, sin frotarlo contra el cuello del tubo, es suficiente para definir los labios y aplicarlo en una capa, pero siempre me doy otra para que brille más.

Mientras se seca el labial se nota en los labios, y como es de acabado metálico no se seca del todo nunca. Además, si presiono aunque sea levemente los labios juntos sí que se notan un poco pegajosos, aunque no es totalmente desagradable en plan "tengo pegamento en los labios" y no altera el labial para nada. De todas formas, pasada una media hora más o menos dejo de notarlo. La primera vez me sorprendió esto y ni siquiera me di cuenta que ya no lo notaba en los labios.

Colourpop Surprise is an Ultra Metallic Lip, as I've written before, a metallic finish. Since this isn't an ultra matte liquid lipstick, I did not test it out the first time the same way I do those. First time wearing I drank water from a bottle but without pressing my lips to hard on it, and it didn't disappear because of the water. After eating snacks it wore of the corner of the lips, and it's obviously not transfer proof at all, but it doesn't bleed or move on the face.

It should be touched up as any other regular lipsticks, after every meal. What I like about this is that, since it stains the lips, it wears off very gracefully, the sparkling particles remaining for the most part on the lips. The longest I wore it without touch ups was that first time, and I had to reapply almost 6 hours later.

Colourpop Surprise en un Ultra Metallic Lip que, como ya he dicho por arriba, es de acabado metálico. Como no es un ultra matte, no lo puse a prueba como pongo esos. La primera vez que lo usé bebí sólo agua de la botella sin apretar los labios muy fuerte contra ella, y el agua no lo hizo desaparecer. Después de comer algunas "mierdillas" (ahem, doritos...) sí que desapareció de las comisuras de los labios, y obviamente transfiere, aunque no "sangra" (lo que se le llama cuando los labiales se "van del labio" por las líneas de la piel) o se mueve por la cara.
Se debe retocar como otros labiales, después de cada comida. Lo que em gusta de éste es que, como tiñe los labios, desaparece de una forma muy bonita, las partículas brillantes se quedan bastante además. La vez que más lo he llevado sin retocar fue la primera vez, y lo retoqué pasadas unas 6 horas.

I honestly love Surprise, I think it's a very special and eye catching color. It's the classic red with a twist. As I'm writing this, the color is out of stock on the official Colourpop site and I don't know if they would make it available again.

Sinceramente me encanta Surprise, creo que es un color muy especial que llama la atención. Es el rojo clásico pero con un "algo" de más. Mientras escribo esto, el color está fuera de stock en la página de Colourpop y no sé si lo volverán a sacar.
