Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask review
Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask review
Last month, while I was still in Seoul, I was lucky enough to be able to benefit, thanks to a friend being a member, from a mega sale Innisfree had; almost everything was at least half price. The original price of the Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask was 3,000 won each, and they were at 50% so for 1,500 won each I thought it was the perfect chance to try these.

The Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask have three "flavors": soothing, hydrating and nourishing. While my favorite mask type is hydrogel, even since I tried the Leaders Insolution Superfood Coconut Gel masks and love them, I've been meaning to try more masks like those.

You can read in that entry about how coconut bio cellulose masks are made, because the only thing that Innisfree say about that in the package or in their global website is that they are developed with a naturally derived sheet made from fermented coconut water, being a sheet that "comfortable adheres to facial skin as if wrapping it in a second skin, and keeps it moisturized all day with the capacity to maintain abundant moisture".

The three Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask are the same material that you can see in the previous photos (the second photo is that dark so the net could be seen). They come protected by two "net cutouts", that come really well adhered to the mask but are also really easy to take off them. I personally think that out of all the "protection methods" I've seen in masks, this is by far the best: it allows the serum in the package to keep the sheet mask perfectly soggy, while protecting and not retaining any serum. Really really pleased by this. All of them have the average 22ml in the more expensive masks (and I say expensive meaning not the 1,000 won masks that I regularly use).

The fit of the Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose mask is also obviously the same in the three, and I had with them the same problems I have with almost all masks I've tried: too big for my nose/mouth/chin area. The adherence is fantastic and once put it didn't move one bit, exactly what I expected from them.

The material might be the same, but the ingredient list, while being essentially the same, have its active/key ingredients or have ingredients in different order. The mentionable ingredients that all of them share are: glycerin (humectant), betaine (cleansing), arginine (antioxidant), centella asiatica extract (antioxidant) and lots of flower and roots extracts.

Since each of them have supposedly a different goal, I'll review them individually:

Nourishing || Nutritiva

They key ingredient in this is Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose Nourishing mask is rice extract, that helps to "nourish and moisture skin".

I took it all of them off when it started drying, about 45 minutes of wear. I felt my skin instantly moisturized, and the leftover essence took some time to absorbe after patting. Since I used it in summer with high temperatures, I felt this was enough moisture for my skin for the day and didn't apply night cream or sleeping pack. The following morning my skincare routine applied really smoothly and definitely felt the skin better in regards to moisture.

It was the one that made my skin feel the stickiest after removing it and the remaining essence was being absorbed, it actually felt a little tacky.

Hydrating || Hidratante

They key ingredient in this Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose Hydrating mask is witch-hazel water to moisturize skin.

The feeling it gave me while wearing it was very similar to the first one, but after removing it I really felt the difference. While I think the other mask was "too much" is the summer weather, this was perfect. I had leftover essence that absorbed rather quickly without patting required and my skin didn't felt sticky at all. Not only my skin felt more moisturized, it looked like it- it had that subtle you get on the skin after it's freshly treated.

Even if I felt my skin really hydrated it accepted my moisturizing cream afterwards. The following morning my skin looked better than it usually does, not noticeable to others, but yes to me that the first thing I do when I wake up is scrutinize my face in a mirror.

Soothing || Calmante

Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose Soothing mask review
Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose Soothing mask review
The key ingredient in this Innisfree Coconut Bio Cellulose Soothing mask is centella asiatica extract to "soothe dry and rough skin".

This mask has the key ingredient in the 6th place of the ingredient list, instead of like the other two where it's sitting at 10th place. I felt my skin slightly itching from how much I was under the sun that day. The moment I put on this mask I felt the sensation reduced, not even exaggerating. It didn't hydrate as much as the other two, but I felt so thankful for the calming sensation I had afterwards and honestly, it's soothing so it's the only thing it should do greatly, right?

Overall I really like these masks. I'm not going to pay their full price, but if they're on sale? Sure, I'll be grabbing the three of them!
