su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam review

Ah, su:m37. I can't believe I'm even talking about su:m37 on the blog to be completely honest. The Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam was the first product I tried from the brand, and I always like starting a brand using their cleansing foams.

If you're a little bit into the world of Korean cosmetics, you already know that this brand is one of the fancier (aka more expensive) brands and owned by Amore Pacific (which also owns about 22 brands more). And if you don't, the way I can explain it is the brand that usually people in the later 20's early 20's buy if they have more than average money (usually, this is just a generalization about how the brand is "perceived"). It is expensive, but I don't consider it to be at luxury prices like, for example, SK-II.


Bueno, su:m37. No me puedo creer que por fin vaya a hablar de su:m37 en el blog para ser totalmente sincera. El limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect fue el primer producto que he probado de la marca, y siempre me gusta empezar a probar marcas por los limpiadores en espuma.

Si conocéis un poco sobre los cosméticos coreanos, ya sabréis que ésta marca es una de las más "exclusivas", de culto (es decir, de las caras) y que pertenece a Amore Pacific (que también tiene como otras 22 marcas más). Y si no lo sabéis, puedo explicarosla que generalmente es la que la gente a finales de los 20 o principios de los 30 con más poder adquisitivo se compra (a ver, es una generalización de como se "percibe" la marca). Es cara, pero tampoco considero que sea de lujo como SK-II por ejemplo.

The name of the brand is really thought, and if you're interested in knowing about in depth, here is a very cool article I found. The "official" name is su:m37º, the 37º referring to the optimal Celsius degrees for the fermentation and aging in a cedar barrel and the human body temperature.


El nombre de la marca está muy bien pensado, que si os interesa leer más sobre ello os dejo aquí un artículo muy interesante que he encontrado (en inglés). El nombre "oficial" es su:m37º, refiriéndose con los 37º a los grados Celsius óptimos para la fermentación y maduración en barricas de cedro y la temperatura del cuerpo humano.

The container of the su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam, at 200ml capacity, is huge and would last for month even using it twice a day. It comes in a cupboard box with a leaflet, and the security system is a plastic lid on the dispenser. I love how a brand like su:m37 doesn't use excessive packaging, it says a lot in my opinion. I love the gold box and the design of the bottle, iridescent white with blue details, which totally reminds of the ocean.


El envase del limpiador limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37, con una capacidad de 200ml, es enorme y dura meses incluso usándolo dos veces al día. Viene en una caja de cartón con un panfleto, y el sistema de seguridad es un plástico en el dispensador. Me encanta que una marca como su:m37 no use embalaje excesivo, dice mucho de ellos en mi opinión. La caja dorada me parece preciosa, así como el diseño del tubo, blanco iridiscente con detalles azules, que recuerda totalmente al mar.

The su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam has a creamy texture and a soft foam that, according to the brand (I can't put the direct link, it's under product line-skin saver), has "fermented seaweeds and organic marine extracts to keep skin moist and remove skin wastes". The cleanser is part of the "Skin Saver Ocean Effect" line, that is a cleaning product line that according to the brand in the included leaflet, is designed to provide moisture to the skin while still keeping it clear. Apart for the mentioned extracts, it's supposed to also have pure deep-sea water, minerals, vitamins and amino acids to help the skin on absorbing the moisturizing elements.


El limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37 tiene una textura crema y una espuma suave que, según la marca (no puedo poner la dirección directa, está bajo product line-skin saver), tiene algas fermentadas y extractos orgánicos marinos para mantener la piel hidratada y eliminar piel muerta. El limpiador es parte de la línea "Skin Saver Ocean Effect", que es una línea destinada a limpiar la piel a la vez que la mantiene hidratada. Además de los mencionados extractos, se supone que también tiene agua pura de mar, minerales, vitaminas y amino ácidos para ayudar a la piel a absorber los ingredientes hidratantes.

The ingredient list of the su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam is on the leaflet in Korean (you can see part of it at the left side of the photo), and it's almost as never ending as the ingredients lists from other products I've tried from the brand (Signature Essence Fine Moisturizer and the Time Energy Skin Resetting Toner). I can read hangeul but most of the ingredients are transcribed from english so it's hard for me to figure out what I'm reading (konglish isn't my forte to be honest). The first ingredient on the list is myristic acid, which is a cleansing agent that as all cleansers, can be drying. I haven't been able to find the ingredient list online. Neither the pH level of it, or test it myself since I don't have the material for it, but I'm sure this is a high pH level cleansing foam.


La lista de ingredientes del limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37 está en el panfleto en coreano (la podéis ver en la parte izquierda de la foto superior), y es casi tan interminable como las listas de ingredientes de otros productos de su:m37 que he probado (Signature Essence Fine Moisturizer y el Time Energy Skin Resetting Toner). Puedo leer hangeul pero la mayoría de ingredientes están transcritos del inglés así que se me hace difícil identificar qué estoy leyendo (el konglish no es mi fuerte la verdad). El primer ingrediente que leo es ácido mirístico, un agente limpiador que como todos, puede resecar la piel. No he podido encontrar la lista de ingredientes online. Tampoco el nivel de pH, o comprobarlo yo ya que no tengo el material para hacerlo, pero estoy segura que tiene un pH alto.

To be absolutely and completely honest, the su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam is probably my favorite foaming cleanser up to date. The product it's very creamy when it comes out of the bottle, and has that pearl or white iridescent color that reminded me of the appearance of the Missha Super Aqua Refreshing Cleansing Foam. The cleanser smells very fresh, almost flowery fresh but not really. I always describe this kind of scent like "clean", but it really smells to me like clean sheets- like soap, flowers... very fresh.


Siendo totalmente sincera, el limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37 es probablemente mi limpiador favorito de todos los que he probado hasta ahora. El producto es muy cremoso al salir del tubo, y tiene un color perlado o blanco iridiscente que me recordó al Super Aqua Refreshing Cleansing Foam de Missha. El limpiador tiene un olor muy fresco, casi floral pero sin llegar a serlo. Siempre describo éste tipo de olores como "huele a limpio", pero es que de verdad que me huele como a sábanas limpias- como jabón, flores... muy fresco.

I take the su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam first on my hands to emulsify it, and then massage it onto my face, which makes the foam very rich and smooth. What you see in the photos is more than enough to cleanse the whole face.


Aplico el limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37 primero en las manos para que emulsione, y después lo masajeo en la cara, que aumenta la espuma a una muy cremosa y suave. Lo que veis en las fotos es más que necesario para limpiar la cara.

I normally use it during my night time routine only, but during the summer I also used it in my morning skincare routine to effectively remove sunscreen after sunbathing, and my skin never suffered because of it. It cleanses the skin while still maintaining its moisture, although I do have to say that while it didn't dry my oily skin, I don't think it's the best cleanser for dry skins. What you see in the foam picture is actually half of what it is int he product photo, I had to emulsify it with both my hands and could only put again on the hand some of it.


Generalmente sólo lo uso en mis rutinas nocturnas, pero durante el verano lo he estado usando también muchas mañanas para retirar la crema de sol después de estar tomando el sol, y mi piel nunca ha reaccionado a malas. Limpia la piel a la vez que mantiene la hidratación, aunque tengo que decir que a pesar de no resecar mi piel grasa, no creo que sea el mejor para las pieles secas. Lo que veis en la foto inferior es más o menos la mitad de la espuma que se consigue con la cantidad de arriba, tuve que emulsionarlo en las manos y luego no pude pasar bien todo el producto de nuevo al dorso.

While the su:m37 Skin Saver Ocean Effect Cleansing Foam is not affordable by any means, I do recommend it for people with oily skin that can tolerate high pH cleanser, which I know not everybody does or likes. At the moment of publishing this review I have been using the cleanser for more than four months, almost three of them twice a day, and I still have more than half of the bottle. So if you want to try su:m37 products, the cleansers are the best in relation to how much use you get in relation to the price. I'm not really sure if this is still available to buy, since it doesn't appear on the Korean version of the website (although it does appear in the English version) but I've seen it online for about 34€.


A pesar de que el limpiador Skin Saver Ocean Effect de su:m37 no es asequible se mire por donde se mire, sí que lo recomiendo para pieles grasas que puedan tolerar pH altos, que sé que no todo el mundo hace o le gusta. Al publicar ésta entrada llevo usando el limpiador durante más de cuatro meses, tres de ellos prácticamente dos veces al día, y todavía tengo más de la mitad del bote. Así que si queréis probar algún producto de su:m37, los limpiadores son una gran opción ya que se usan durante mucho más tiempo. No tengo muy claro si éste se sigue vendiendo, porque no lo encuentro en la página web coreana (pero sí en la versión en ingles), pero por internet lo he visto por unos 34€.
