Skincare and beauty youtubers worth watching

I admit that while once I was a very big fan of watching youtube, specially beauty youtubers, I became very tired of the obvious sponsored non-parcial reviews, the over the top personalities... You get it, I know you do. 

However, there are some youtube channels that I watch and enjoy, be it reviews, vlogs or the almost disappeared make up tutorials. I watch some more than the ones here, but these are the ones I enjoy the most and the ones I'm subscribed to. If you click on the names of the channels it will take you there. So in no particular order:


Admito que aunque hubo un tiempo en el que era muy fan de ver youtube, especialmente las de maquillaje/belleza, me cansó mucho el alto contenido de vídeos claramente patrocinados que no eran parciales, las personalidades tan demasiado... Sé que me entiendes, lo sé.

A pesar de ello, todavía hay algunos canales de youtube que me encanta ver, ya sean reseñas, vlogs o los casi desparecidos tutoriales de maquillaje. Veo bastantes más que de los que os hablo aquí, pero estos son los que más me gustan y a los que estoy suscrita. Si hacéis click en los nombres de los canales os llevará allí. Así que sin ningún orden particular:

What I like about Stephanie is that she does thoughtful reviews about products: gives background of the brand, talks about shipping, price, cost etc. I also like how she refuses to review brands that she doesn't agree with, or does videos to denounce or attract attention different things.

You can agree with her opinion or not, but she does lay down the facts first and tells her opinions later. She convinced me not to buy certain products (first Huda palette for example), and I'm grateful for that.


Lo que me gusta de Stephanie es que hace reseñas muy bien pensadas sobre productos: da información sobre la marca, comenta sobre el envío, precio, coste etc. También me gusta cómo no hace reseñas de productos de marcas que no apoya, o hace vídeos para denunciar o atraer la atención hacia diferentes sucesos.

Puedes estar de acuerdo con su opinión o no, pero primero habla sobre los hechos objetivos y luego comenta su opinión. Me ha convencido para no comprar varios productos (la primera paleta de Huda por ejemplo), y estoy muy agradecida por ello.

The only Korean skincare related channel I watch, I discovered because of one video from her SOS (Streets of Seoul). I find Jennifer to be very honest with her reviews, and the way she looks at and judges products is really similar to how I do. Most of the time, the opinions she has on products I have also tried, concurr with the ones I have, so therefore I trust her to buy products I've never tried.

We have really different personalities, she's very bubbly which I usually find annoying (you might notice that you won't be seeing any of that on this list!), but she's very professional on her videos and not over the top/faking it. I normally don't follow religious people because they tend to shove it down your throat, but she doesn't (she obviously talks about it because it's a big part of her life, which I also obviously respect). She works hard for her videos and it shows in the quality she puts out, which hasn't been much lately but hey, we all go through stuff in our lives.


Es el único canal relacionado con la cosmética coreana que sigo, y lo descubrí por uno de sus vídeos de SOS (Streets Of Seoul, calles de Seúl). Me parece que Jennifer es muy honesta con sus reseñas, y la forma en la que juzga los productos es muy similar a como lo hago yo. En la mayoría de los productos de los que habla que yo también he probado solemos tener la misma opinión, así que en consecuencia confío en ella para comprar productos que nunca he probado.

Tenemos personalidades muy diferentes, ella es muy alegre que normalmente encuentro muy molesto (¡supongo que notarás que no vas a ver nada parecido en ésta lista!), pero es muy profesional en sus vídeos y no es demasiado/siendo falsa. Normalmente tampoco sigo a personas religiosas porque tienden a pregonar, pero ella no lo hace (obviamente habla de ello porque es una parte importante de su vida, lo que obviamente respeto). Trabaja muy duro en sus vídeo y se ve en la calidad que presenta, que no ha sido mucho en los últimos meses pero tampoco pasa nada, a todos nos pasan cosas en la vida.

It hasn't been long since I stumbled in one of her videos, which was, of course, the review she did on the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe collaboration palette.

To be honest, I love Samantha; her personality is more like mine and my friends, and she does make up tutorials! She's a make up artist and it totally shows in her technique, brushes, looks...
Samantha also does other beauty-related videos like favorites, first impressions etc that aren't boring to watch. But I do wish she would upload more frequently, because whenever she uploads I'm fast clicking on the video and then I'm left wondering "... when will the next one be?".


No hace mucho que me encontré con uno de sus vídeos por primera vez, que fue, por supuesto, su reseña sobre la paleta de colaboración de Jaclyn Hill x Morphe.

Siendo totalmente sincera, me encanta Samantha; su personalidad es muy parecida a la mía y la de mis amigas, y encima ¡hace tutoriales de maquillaje! Es maquilladora profesional y se nota totalmente por su técnica, brochas, looks...
Samantha también hace vlogs y otros vídeos relacionados con la "belleza" como favoritos mensuales, primeras impresiones etc que no son aburridos de ver. Pero la verdad es que me encantaría que subiera vídeos más a menudo, porque en cuanto sube un vídeo me lo trago entero y luego me quedo en plan "...¿pero cuándo va a ser el siguiente?".

PONY Makeup / PONY Syndrome

Most of Pony's videos are make up tutorials (yes!) which she actually explains very well, and her team film and edit wonderfully. She also started to do last year cute vlogs that are interesting, different and, again, filmed and edited by her team really really well.

Pony is what we could say the original Korean online celebrity. She started becoming famous online for her blog that she had on cyworld (kind of like the Korean MySpace of the era), with make up tutorials, modeling photos and modeling wigs. She then became famous to the general public, and people overseas, because she was the makeup artist of CL from 2NE1 (she isn't anymore, and haven't been for at least 3-4 years).

I used to like her more last year to be completely honest, her latest tutorials have been subpar to say the least, and all of them sponsored with brands she doesn't really mesh her style with but... that's totally my opinion.


La mayoría de los vídeos de Pony son tutoriales (¡sí!) que explica súper bien, y su equipo graba y edita de lujo. El año pasado empezó también a hacer volgs bastante interesantes, diferentes y, de nuevo, grabados y editados por su equipo súper súper bien.

Pony es lo que podríamos decir la famosa coreana de internet original. Empezó a hacerse famosa online por su blog que lo tenía en cyworld (más o menos como el MySpace coreano de la época), con tutoriales de maquillaje, fotos de modelo de tiendas de ropa e incluso como modelo de pelucas. Luego se hizo famosa al público general, y fuera de Corea, porque trabajó como maquilladora de CL de 2NE1 (lleva sin serlo unos 3 ó 4 años si no me equivoco).

Siendo totalmente sincera me gustaba más los vídeos que subía antes, los últimos tutoriales han sido bastante mediocres siendo educada, todos patrocinados por marcas con las que no encaja para nada... pero bueno, todo esto es mi opinión.

I started watching Sophia when she was still fashionista804, and it was for her vlogs. I also liked (and still like) her beauty videos, but her vlogs had something that a lot of others don't, mainly her personality. 

She doesn't upload regularly, which sucks because she has killer cinematography in her "most recent" (from the last year or so), a lot of her look books feel like short films. She uploads what she calls monthly "recaps" which is a very lenghty vlog of the whole month and honestly... I watch everything.


Cuando empecé a ver a Sophia era todavía fashionista804, y fue por sus vlogs. También me gustaban (y todavía me gustan) sus vídeos de belleza, pero sus vlogs tienen algo que los demás no tienes, más que nada su personalidad.

No sube de forma regular, lo que es un poco mmm porque tiene una cinematografía espectacular es sus vídeos "recientes" (como de hace un año o así hacia aquí), muchos de sus look books parecen películas cortas. Sí que sube todos los meses lo que ella llama un "monthly recap" que es un vlog largo de todo lo que ha hecho durante el mes y la verdad... me los trago todos.

Last but not least is Nicole Cutler, who I discovered around two months ago while searching for Juvia's Place The Sharan reviews (this video). I like her because of a lot of reasons (she's very articulate in her reviews, gives positive and negatives opinions on products etc), but the main reason is because... she does tutorials! I think I'm like one of the 10 people who still enjoy tutorials and I really like her's because she does unusual color combinations or looks that work and love. I also follow her on instagram because she uploads make up looks there where I get a lot of inspiration from my own ones.

Por último pero no menos importante Nicole Cutler, a quien descubrí por casualidad hace un par de meses buscando reseñas de la paleta The Sahran de Juvia's Place (este vídeo). Me gusta mucho por diferentes razones (se expresa muy bien en sus reseñas, da tanto opiniones positivas como negativas de productos etc.), pero la mayor de todas es porque... ¡hace tutoriales! De verdad que creo que soy una de las 10 personas a las que todavía le gusta ver tutoriales y me gustan los suyos porque usa combinaciones de colores inusuales o looks pero que funcionan y me encantan. También le sigo en instagram porque suele subir bastantes looks de maquillaje de los que tomo bastante inspiración para los míos.

Maria isn't a youtuber per se, but I discovered her through it. It's been years and I'm still obsessed with her. She's a make up artist, working as such, and she honestly taught me so much about make up (with her articles on the blog, videos, bits she says on instagram), like having a more "light weight" approach, letting skin breath etc. Her instagram is amazing, she posts photos from looks she does mostly on other people on her studio and also work for magazines/ads she does.

I follow her on instagram and her blog/website is kind of amazing, so if you know Spanish definitely check it out.


Maria no es una youtuber per se, pero la descubrí a través de ello. Han pasado años y todavía sigo obsesionada con ella. Es una maquilladora profesional, trabaja de ello, y de verdad que me ha enseñado mucho en cuanto a maquillaje (con los artículos en su blog, los vídeos que sube, pequeñas cosas que va contando en instagram), como "abordar" el maquillaje de una forma más ligera, dejar que la piel respire etc. Su instagram es maravilloso, sube fotos tanto de looks que hace en su estudio en otras personas por lo general y también trabajo que hace para revistas/campañas.

Le sigo en instagram y su blog/página web es fantástico, así que echadle un vistazo.
